The Old Barn is located within a hamlet which has a very low crime rate and is ideal for a therapeutic residential home for young people. The Old Barn is a six-bedroom converted barn with many original features, but with a modern twist creating space for communal living and individual time. There are four bedrooms for the young people one of which has an en suite. The young people are encouraged to personalise their space and have input into decoration of the home. Carers are provided with sleepover bedrooms and shower facilities. The property is set within beautiful surroundings with its own enclosed tennis court and fishing lake.  The Home is located near to the small quaint village of Epworth where there are many shops, restaurants and doctors etc along with schools and a recreation centre. The towns of Doncaster, Scunthorpe and Gainsborough are within 30 minutes driving distance.

On the day of arrival, Young people, providers, and significant others will be given a Children’s Guide, as well as receiving a copy of the home’s Statement of Purpose. The young person will receive a welcome pack and be allocated a therapeutic keyworker in line with appropriate risk assessments to the individual young person's needs. The Key workers role is to ensure that the child’s needs are met, that talents, enthusiasms and preferences are recognised and developed, and that emotional and psychological issues are understood and worked through. The keyworker provides a special focus for exploring and developing the capacity for healthy emotional attachment, in all its complexities.
